Families Committee
Creating programs for NetSAP members with
families & children
This committee will connect young parents around
the DC area with one another and host kid friendly cultural and
networking events. If you are a current, former member of NetSAP or
non-member with kids - this committee is for you!
Why you should join:
You
have kids, want to connect with other South Asian parents in the DC
area, and participate in events that help your kids to learn about
their heritage.

The
group will serve as a discussion forum for NetSAP-DC members and
non-members who'd like to share information about upcoming
family-oriented events, news, and resources!
Feel free to join in and contribute!
When you join, you will be able to post messages to other families,
create or answer polls, chat with other members online and have access
to links and calendars.
This listserve is for you – you can post messages inquiring information
related to anything – advice about parenting, resources available in
the community, events for young children etc.
What we’ll be doing:
Throughout the year there will be large events as well as ongoing
events to help gather families with children together.
Of course, it's not just about events ... we will also be collecting
lots of online resources for parents in the area in our NetSAP Families
Directory.
We will also be able to provide you with family discounts at local
stores and restaurants.
Monthly Programs:
- Monthly Playgroups for young children
- Outings at kid friendly restaurants, museums, cultural outings
- Moms/Dads Night out
- Major Events: Holi, Spring/Summer Picnics, Diwali
What
you can do to help:
Volunteer!
Since this is a fairly new committee, members are strongly urged to
volunteer and participate.
With your help and assistance, we will be able to organize events for
you and your families.

Resources:
We would like to build a NetSAP Families Directory. If you or someone
you know works in an industry that is beneficial to group members with
children, please provide us with their information. (ie. Pediatricians,
Lawyers, Dentists, Teachers, Parks & Recreation, Restaurants).
