> Community Service
Background
Historically, the Network of South Asian Professionals of DC (NetSAP-DC)
has encouraged community service involvement in the Greater DC area both
in terms of providing human capital and fundraising capabilities. By tapping
into the large NetSAP community, we have an opportunity to utilize the
talents of our membership in a greater capacity and leverage our collective
strengths to make a meaningful impact.
2005 Objectives for the Community Service Committee
The 2005 NetSAP-DC Community Service committee is focused on organizing events that provide opportunities for volunteers to network, build new skills, and have fun while providing their time and talents to support the community.
Our goal is to provide a diverse set of group-oriented service events to encourage as many NetSAP members and patrons to participate as possible. A sample of events already scheduled include working with the following organizations:
- Food Bank of Greater Washington DC
- Hands on DC
- Race for the Cure
- Asha for Education
- WETA
Throughout the course of the year, we will be planning a variety of large
and small events that will encompass different areas of community service.
To share ideas and suggestions, please write to cs@netsap.org
or attend one of the committee planning meetings.
