Background
The NetSAP-DC Women's Forum Committee is focused on empowering women across the professional, creative and social aspects of their lives. Our events are designed to encourage networking and promote mentorship among women of South Asian decent. Since its inception in 2001, the Women's Forum has generated considerable exposure and has attracted over 300 professional women in the DC Metropolitan area.
2005 Objectives for the Women's Forum Committee

Networking: Build
a solid network of female professionals. Organize events where
members can interact with other professionals and develop both
personal and professional relationships. |

Building
Awareness: Increase awareness in areas where women have
special concerns, including health, politics and professional
development. |

Community
Development:
Provide a forum where women can feel comfortable asking
questions, participating and networking.
Collaborate with other non-profit organizations committed to
women’s issues in Washington, DC. |
Proposed Events
Proposed events for 2005 include informal networking sessions, women?s political forum, entrepreneurship and investing seminars, classes such as sailing, cooking, etc and discussions on health issues and common women's issues. We encourage interested volunteers to join the committee to share ideas and help plan future events.
