The Sixth Annual Holi Hungama: Sunday, March 28

NetSAP DC, Mona Tandon, and Poonum Agarwal Present: The Sixth Annual Holi Hungama

When: Sunday, March 28, 2010
Start Time: 1:00 pm
Where: Quincy Park
1021 N. Quincy Street
Arlington, VA 22201

Join NetSAP DC to celebrate Holi in the Park! Everyone is welcome to attend and this event is free to members and non-members.  Bring your own gulal (holi color) and picnic baskets and play holi with some new NetSAP DC friends! Gulal can be purchased at most South Asian stores in the metro area.

Given the recent devastation in Haiti, NetSAP DC will be collecting monetary donations for the Grameen Foundation's Haiti Fund.  We will also be collecting nonperishables and toiletries for the Arlington Food Bank.

So wear your finest whites, and get ready to get colorful!  Feel free to bring friends...the more the merrier.

Some Holi Tips:

-Wear clothes that you don't mind getting color on. The tradition is to wear all white so you can see all of the fun Holi colors.

-You may want to bring the following: a towel and/or dry change of clothes for after the event; water balloons, water guns, outdoor games, plastic bags, food/drinks (things that are acceptable at public places), picnic blanket/lawn chairs to sit on, and your cameras (in a plastic bag or bring a disposable one).

-If you have them, wear contacts instead of glasses.

-A tip to getting the color off your skin quickly: rub baby oil or vaseline on your skin before playing with the colors. The ladies can wear nail polish to prevent the color from setting in the nails.
