Writers, Masses, Multitudes – A Lannan Literary Symposium:

"Writers, Masses, Multitudes" explores connections between anti-colonial liberation movements and the contemporary neo-liberal world order. Kenyan novelist Ngugi wa Thiong'o, American writer Kim Stanley Robinson, Indian writers and social activists Ganesh Devy and DaKxin Bajrange Chhara, and others, will gather for readings, film screenings, and a roundtable discussion over a two-day period. Topics include issues of civil society, human rights, race and gender equality, and globalization.

Featured authors: Ngugi wa Thiong’o, Kim Stanley Robinson, Ganesh Devy, DaKxin Bajrange Chhara

Organized in concert with the Program in Justice and Peace at Georgetown University.

Spoken Sanskrit Workshop:

 

After making rounds in Virginia, Rockville, Baltimore and Pennsylvania our popular weekend Spoken Sanskrit workshop is back to Maryland - A fun- filled, interactive spoken Sanskrit workshop conducted by University of Maryland’s Samskritam in association with SSVT education program

Where: Shri Shiva Vishnu Temple, Education room (basement) – Lanham, MD
When: Saturday, February 17 and Sunday, February 18
                9 am to 5 pm (with lots of breaks)
