NetSAP DC is proud to bring you May's Third Thursday Networking Night at:

Thought by many to be one of Washington's trendiest and most exclusive lounges.  Eighteenth Street Lounge occupies the top two floors of a former President's mansion in the newly revitalized Connecticut Avenue corridor. 

 

NetSAP is proud to be collaborating with the Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL) for this month's Networking Night.  To learn more about CAPAL, visit their website at www.capal.org.

The May edition of our wildly successful NetSAP DC Dinner Circle will be taking place on May 24, 2006.  For more information please visit the Dinner Circle page on our website. 

 

PROFESSIONAL COMMITTEE: Financial Planning 101, Thursday May 25, 2006, 7:00 pm

 

Representatives each from Merrill Lynch and Northwestern Mutual Financial Network will speak on financial planning and investing.   The Merrill Lynch advisors will focus on everyday financial planning (i.e. maximizing your 401 (k), the importance of investing at a young age, etc.) The Northwestern Mutual advisors will focus on risk management and insuring your long-term future.  The discussion will be followed by a Q&A session.

SPORTS COMMITTEE: Side-Out Foundation Volleyball Tournament, June 3 & 4, 2006

 

Join NetSAP members and help raise money for the Side-Out Foundation 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Tournament being held in Reston, VA.  Last year, it is through support such as this that the Foundation was able to distribute over $15,000 to INOVA Cancer services research division. We are trying to form a team for this event so please RSVP by contacting the email addresses below before you register!

SPORTS COMMITTEE: Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America DC Guts and Glory Walk, Sunday, June 11, 2006, 9:00 am

 

Join the NetSAP team and help raise money for research to eradicate IBD at the 16th Annual Guts & Glory Walk to be held at the Tidal Basin Trail, Washington, DC. The walk starts at 9:00am following the trail around the Tidal Basin, past the Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Thomas Jefferson Monuments and paddleboats ending back at the Sylvan Theater. You can either donate or better yet, PARTICIPATE!!

We have decided on a new upscale venue and need your help on the planning committee!

 

We are looking for people to help in all aspects of planning including:

- Sponsorship: Approaching targeted sponsors, preparing/researching material for sponsors, finding additional potential sponsors

- Entertainment: For this upscale event, we will need to think about classy entertainment options that are within our budget

- Logistics: Communicating with potential charities, supporting finances, creating a marketing plan, and helping to fill in the gaps to ensure another successful event.

(1) Dakshina:  Celebrating Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month

 

Dakshina has several exciting events in May to celebrate Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month. In an ongoing effort to provide quality programs that are accessible, we have organized several free performances.  Please join us if you can, detailed information is available at www.dakshina.org. CHAI, Inc is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate and find referrals to the South Asian community on issues related to mental health and wellness.
